I spoke the other day to my client who was the victim of an ebike cargo rider a few months ago. Together, we have been pressing the police to do something following a serious accident.

One of the options that they often go for to avoid a criminal prosecution is a driver improvement course, it suits the criminal justice system because it keeps the courts free and keeps the cash rolling in with the £100 that all drivers must pay .

Anyway, my client ticked the driver improvement course box on the police questionnaire but, guess what?

They tell my client that they have no possible course to send the cyclist on because they have no such course for cyclists!

Together, we are pressing for the police to prosecute but they clearly need to bring their road user improvement courses into the 21st century.
