So goes the headline in a newspaper this am,but this isn’t what NICE are proposing in response to air pollution. They ARE saying that cars slowing down and then speeding up is bad for air pollution.I’m sure NICE are aware of how manylives have been saved by speedhumps and how they make our cities so much more liveable by slowing down motor traffic.
As a cyclist ,I ‘m sure I’m not alone in preferring the speedhumps with gaps rather than the unbroken ones and it occurred to me that these might go down better with NICE and motorists too. Cars wouldn’t have to slow down and speed up so abruptly ,and this would make for cleaner air.
